Vitrine is an Astro theme for a catalogue raisonné — an archive whose subject is objects, not posts. The page is a printed sheet rather than a card layout: a 1px rule grid, and inside each cell a plate, the photograph placed with room around it, a caption above and the wall label below.
How it reads
- Bodoni Moda for the nameplate and the headings, Spectral for the notes and the apparatus
- The plate: rules, cartellini, double-width cells for the objects that earn one, all in CSS
- Nothing is rounded, nothing glows, and the only button inverts
- Dark mode in light-dark() pairs — the plate cell keeps its paper — and a layout that holds down to 360px
- Contrast measured rather than eyeballed: a script fails the build on any pair below WCAG AA

Vitrine Pro adds what a catalogue needs once the archive is more than a list: index terms with an A–Z index and a chronology, Pagefind search and a finder over the grids, further plates with an enlargement, provenance, exhibition and literature registers, section essays, a share card drawn per object, and four colour presets.
