๐Ÿš€ Astro Rocket โ€” Astro 7 Starter theme created by Hans Martens

A complete, styled website out of the box โ€” every page designed, every feature wired together. Built on Astro 6 and Tailwind CSS v4 for designers, freelancers, and developers who want a portfolio or marketing site that impresses from launch. It ships a full design system, 57+ components, 12 live-switchable colour themes, 3-state dark mode, a blog and projects showcase, full-stack i18n, built-in search, complete SEO, and a suite of polished interactions.

โšก Perfect Lighthouse Score

Perfect on every Lighthouse category โ€” Performance, Accessibility, Best Practices, and SEO โ€” on mobile and desktop, on the full live demo at astrorocket.dev. Not a stripped benchmark page: the real site with animations, theme switcher, search, and a contact form. The score is a side-effect of how it's built โ€” static-first output, Astro's image pipeline, and WCAG-compliant components by default.

๐Ÿ—๏ธ Zero JavaScript by Default

Astro's island architecture ships pure HTML unless a component needs JavaScript. The theme switcher, dark-mode picker, contact form, search, and comments hydrate as isolated islands โ€” and search and comments don't load at all until you open them. Everything else stays static and fast.

๐ŸŽจ 12 Colour Themes โ€” Live in the Header

Twelve themes ship in the header โ€” Orange, Amber, Lime, Emerald, Teal, Cyan, Sky, Blue, Indigo, Violet, Purple, Magenta. Click a swatch and every button, badge, logo, and accent updates in a single frame โ€” no rebuilds, no deploys, zero JavaScript. The auto-generated monogram logo and favicon track the brand colour too, and the selector can be removed with one prop once you've chosen.

๐Ÿงฉ 57+ Components

A complete library built for Astro and typed with TypeScript, dark-mode and theme aware: UI primitives (Button, Card, Dialog, Tabs, Accordion, Toast, and more), composed patterns (contact form, newsletter, stat cards), layout and blog components, landing sections, and a full SEO layer. A unified Icon component adds 350+ Lucide and 3000+ Simple Icons. Live gallery at /components.

๐Ÿ” Static Search โ€” Powered by Pagefind

A โŒ˜K / Ctrl+K command-palette search in the header, backed by a Pagefind index generated at build time on any deploy target. Lazy-loaded on first open, so it adds zero JavaScript to initial page loads and never touches the Lighthouse score.

๐Ÿ”Ž SEO โ€” The Complete Stack

JSON-LD structured data (WebSite, Organization, Person, BlogPosting, Breadcrumb, and optional FAQ), Open Graph and Twitter cards with a polished default image, canonical URLs, hreflang alternates, an auto-generated sitemap, robots control, and Search Console verification via environment variables.

โœจ Polished Interactions

Spring-curve animations with a controlled overshoot, smooth View Transitions between pages, a hero cascade on load, a scroll progress bar, a progress ring around the back-to-top button, a width-stable typing effect, scroll-reveal grids, animated counters, and a desktop cursor trail. Everything respects prefers-reduced-motion automatically.

๐ŸŒ‘ Dark Mode โ€” Done Right

A 3-state picker โ€” System, Light, Dark โ€” shown as a labelled dropdown with a checkmark on the active option and a live "Currently dark / light" sub-line under System. Remembers your choice, tracks the OS preference live, and an inline script prevents any flash of the wrong theme.

๐Ÿ“ Blog with Content Collections

Type-safe MDX posts validated by Zod, with authors, tags, related posts, reading time, share buttons, RSS, pagination, tag archives, and dynamic Open Graph images. An optional auto-generated table of contents offers inline, sidebar, or auto layouts with scroll-spy. Internal links resolve by stable canonical id, and the build fails on a broken link or duplicate URL rather than shipping a 404.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Comments โ€” Pluggable Giscus or Cusdis

Optional comments via the provider you choose: Giscus (GitHub Discussions) or the privacy-friendly, self-hostable Cusdis. Only the chosen provider's script ships, lazy-loaded with no layout shift, with theme and language following the site. Off by default; enable per post or site-wide.

๐Ÿ–ผ๏ธ Projects Showcase with Galleries

A full projects section โ€” index, pagination, tag archives, and per-project pages. Each project supports a swipeable hero carousel and an in-body lightbox gallery, plus self-hosted video slides that download zero video bytes until played. Dependency-free and lazy-loaded; no third-party YouTube or Vimeo embeds.

๐ŸŒ Internationalization โ€” Full-Stack and Opt-In

Off by default with zero overhead. Turn it on for locale-prefixed routes across the blog and projects, a LanguageSwitcher, and hreflang alternates paired by canonical id so translations can live at different slugs. Navigation, logo, UI chrome, forms, and the 404 page are all translated via JSON dictionaries. English and Dutch ship; add any language by dropping in a JSON file.

๐Ÿš€ From Install to Live in Minutes

Clone, run pnpm install, and the full site runs at localhost:4321. Edit the site and nav config, pick a colour, update the copy, and deploy to Vercel, Netlify, Cloudflare, or any static host.
